on Tuesday was Estonian indendence day and also it was release date for second Popidiot album "Antenna of love". it was released by Seksound. i can seriously say it is strong album, masterpiece of estonian synthpop. all killer, no filler! you can download for one week opening track, great example of indiedance, it sounds like big indie hit. also check out their myspace for other great songs, like first single "fridays revenge"

After 2-year hiatus Strip Squad have started some sort of comeback and they're celebrating it with a small Estonian tour on 28th and 29th of March (details). Also, those dirty poppers of Sweden have recorded a new song called "Cream My Pants" . Here you can find to download some old songs. As they say themselves - "too vulgar to be twee".

Käyttöohje (in finnish "user's manual") is a shy lonesome guy from Tampere, Finland who only sings about love (a rather sad one). He will warm up Strip Squad and probably make up a nice contradiction with this band of extraverts (although they're both quite lo-fi).

St Christopher once released vinyl records under legendary Sarah Records, later moved to Vinyl Japan and Parasol, sounding now more like "what Suede should be" than ancient indie-pop.

Eleanoora Rosenholm is the newest band under Finland's acclaimed Fonal Records. They mix pop , electronics and avangard just like they can only do it in Pori. No wonder 'cos quite a few members play in other great Pori bands (like Magyar Posse).

A Past.
Stockholm south, somewhere. A garden community backyard, laid out with flowers, trees, and ornamental shrubs.
Little music festival, held in grass field- Ljummen.
Whole lotta acts, too many to remember. But two of them are lifting my senses.
I see most minimalist duo built on vocals and nearly trance, tribal drumming.
Loud/silently sheering the spirit by only exhalation.
And it takes me into mysterious mind altered states.
Phenomena of Wildbirds & Peacedrums is yet more harder to express.
Ambience still different from what you can expect after listening their "mighty myspace" page.
It balances between the lines of major categories of pop, spiritual, blues, soul but still flips into something primitive and pure what you don`t really wanna label.
A mix of spiritual pop, free-blues and raw soulmusic in another words.
In live She shifts between singing beautiful poetry (with variety of voice from blues mama to folky fairy) and helping Him in rhythmics. What sometimes feels more like a ritual than just performance.

Recent album (under Found You Recordings), titled Heartcore gives a little hint what its all about.

Other collective, from i got kicked by mind that evening is ASS.
Stands for Andreas Söderström Solo. Busy Stockholms musician.
Not really emphasized as typical singer-songwriter. On the stage that appearance turned out more like other musicians were guests within multiinstrumentalist mood.
ASS plays folk`n`tronics in mellow nordic nostalgic mood. Songs are crafted with samples, xylo, percussions, double-bass, different plates, keys.
Like a soundtrack for imaginery John Fahey, Nick Drake, Õunaviks evening session with long forgotten free jazz improvidents.

Darren Hanlon is one of Australia's most loved songwriters , formerly guitarist in The Simpletons (old live-video before Darren joined). As a solo artist he's released 4 albums and couple of EP's under now defunct Candle Records (home of The Lucksmiths).

Pikelet is a drummer of hard-rocking indie-bands Baseball and True Radical Miracle, also played drums for Ariel Pink on his Australian tour. But just now released her much softer debut solo-album which combines folk, indie-pop, ambient and psychedelic sounds in quite original and refreshing way. When playing live, she uses accordeon and loop-pedal to create layered backround for her gentle voice.

Both play @ Odessa POP in club "Juuksur", Tallinn on 4th of August.

Cloetta Paris is new disco princess from Sweden. I guess it's ok to have a lot of princesses, so I guess Sally Shapiro isn't jealous. Cloetta Paris has been featured in many music sites already, but still I guess link here won't do any harm. Though not much information is available, except that Roger Gunnarsson of Nixon and skivtoppen is involved. Anyway just some cute elektropop for you.
